Warmer Weather on its Way!

Today feels like a good blog post day 🙂

Its FINALLY getting warmer outside, and I am so so so excited to spend more time outside! Its bitter sweet not participating in the 52 Hike Challenge this year. It held me accountable for something, and got me out and moving every week, but not having the stress of it is nice. I do think I’m going to go back to Hike Day Sunday, but also made it Adventure Day Sunday, and fill it with anything fun outside that could also be a great workout! That will be hiking, cycling, or anything on the water (which I’m not really experienced with, but look forward to doing more this summer). Maybe I’ll start my own 52 challenge of just doing something outside once a week! Would anyone be interested in starting something with me?

I honestly don’t have a whole lot to talk about, but checking in is always good! I’m still teaching myself a lot with Final Cut Pro, but haven’t been shooting much. That’s something else the warm weather is helping with! I find a lack of creativity being stuck inside all the time. I need to stretch my legs and create! This year is all about getting out there, learning new things, seeing new places, documenting, and sharing. As I’m learning new things my comfort zone is expanding, and I need to continue pushing outside of it!

Now on to something that is on my mind a lot. The Etsy Shop! It exists, but there is not yet anything on it. It is a lot more involved than I anticipated. Most of that I put on myself. I want to feature little cross stitches I create, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on an app that creates patterns if I’m not sure what all I’m going to do with it yet. I’m also wanting to sell postcard packs, but I don’t have a lot of experience with design so I’m having to teach myself a lot as I go. So its just slow moving and taking a while. I also find myself most motivated to work on it while I’m at work, and unable to dedicate time to it! But now that the weather is nice I just want to be outside! The hope is that I have 10 solid pieces for the Etsy Shop when I launch, and for a while add a new thing each week 🙂 I’ll keep you posted! I want for it to be a nice way to start generating income for RWP, and to be a step towards it being freelance so I can travel more without having to worry (quite so much) about finances. I also plan on donating portions of each sale to the National Parks Service!

I do look forward to getting out into the woods on my own to help work through the stuff in my head, but I will say that I’m looking forward to having an adventure buddy this year! Also, one of Chelsea’s pups, Sammy (a miniature pinscher), is 6 years old and a little chubby with LOTS of energy! I’m thinking about getting him a better harness and getting him outside with me! I don’t have a pup of my own, so I would love tips and suggestions on how to handle a small pup out in the woods! He’s been on short hikes before, and I know with his little legs I probably won’t ever get into too much with him, but I know he will love it!

That’s about all I have for now! I’ve already used up one of my two weeks of vacation for the year, so I have to be smart about how I use the rest! I’m thinking about taking more shorter weekend trips, and I’m debating between using the rest for a week-long vacation or to add a day or two to weekends for smaller adventures. So if you have some opinions on that I would love to hear them!
